1 Kingston’s Traditional Bar & Neapolitan Pizza Fundamentalists
First up, ourselves! Yes we are slightly bias however after a day exploring Ireland’s Reeks District we can’t think of a better place to relax than in our traditional bar and enjoying an artisan Neapolitan style pizza. Our dough is made in house and matures over three days, the tomato sauce is made with the finest San Marzano tomatoes and we use only the best toppings. We were delighted to be recommended by Lucinda O’Sullivan in the summer of 2020 and we are sure you will enjoy your Neapolitan pizza experience in Kingston’s.
2. Sol y Sombra Tapas Bar & Restaurant
Housed in an converted 18th century church this beautiful historic venue is a must visit when you are in Killorglin. This multi-award winning restaurant, which is recommended in the Michelin Guide, marries Spanish style tapas dining with the best of local Kerry ingredients. Sol y Sombra is know for its wine list, tapas fusion menu and cocktails!
3. Kingdom 1795
Looking for the ultimate culinary experience while in Kerry, look no further than Kingdom 1795. This spectacular fine dining restaurant opened it doors after and extensive renovation in 2019 and we couldn’t be happier to have such an amazing restaurant in Killorglin! Head Chef Damien Ring prides himself on using only top quality ingredients,and Manager Suzi O’Gorman delivers a great wine list and spectacular service. Don’t come to Kerry without booking a table in Kingdom 1795!
4. The Bianconi
A staple in the Killorglin restaurant scene, The Bianconi has be welcoming visitors to Killorglin for over 150 years! A great place for both lunch and dinner, weather you fancy a quick soup and sandwich or a famous Bianconi Surprise you will love your experience in the Bianconi.
5. Jack’s
Seafood lovers, look no further. Located in Cromane, a small fishing village approximately 8 minutes from Killorglin, Jack’s boasts spectacular views of Castlemaine Harbour, Inch Beach & Rossbeigh Penninsula as well as the MacGillicuddy Reeks. Known for its amazing seafood and fresh fish dishes, we couldn’t recommend Jack’s more.
Tip* – be sure to get to Jack’s ahead of your reservation and enjoy a pint of Guinness in their cozy traditional pub.
6. The Real Burger
Not your overage chipper! Under new management, with Irish Chef of the Year Chad Byrne and his grill wizard Mohammed Anzy, The Real Burger brings casual dining to the level of fine cuisine. Be sure to check out their specials and the wonderful Vegan Box which changes weekly and contains the best vegan “gear” the two boys can think of.
7. Carrig House
Enjoy “The Carrig Experience” at the Lakeside Restaurant at the beautiful Carrig House. Overlooking the spectacular Caragh Lake, and just a short drive from the centre of Killorglin this wonderful restaurant is recommended in the Michelin Guide. Head Chef Patricia Teahan and her team deliver a wonderful culinary experience that is not to be missed.
8. Sethu
Fancy something a little spicy, look no further than Killorglin’s curry house, Sethu. All of the dishes in Sethu are authentically made using the freshest of ingredients and local Kerry produce. Sethu’s menu has a wide variety so there is something for everyone. Available to dine in and for takeaway.
9. Bunkers
You will struggle to find better “pub grub” than you will enjoy in Bunkers. A Killorglin institution since 1985, a true locals spot, pop in for the roast of the day, the news, or a pint, you will always have a great visit to Bunkers.
10. Quinlans
Best Fish & Chips in Ireland….. need we say more? The Quinlan family has been in business in 1963 and they know their fish. Originally the Quinlan’s provided fish to local restaurants and shops, since 2000 they expanded into their own fish shops and seafood bars. Trust us when we tell you, you NEED to try Quinlan’s Fish & Chips.
